INDIANAPOLIS, June 25, 2009 – The Indianapolis Motor Speedway 2006 “Brickyard Red” Paso Robles Red Varietal Blend, produced by the EOS Estate Winery, recently won a bronze medal in the 2009 Tasters Guild International Wine Judging.
More than 2,000 wines were evaluated this year by Tasters Guild, a nationwide society of wine and food enthusiasts. “Brickyard Red,” a blend of Petite Sirah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petite Verdot, earned its award in the $25-35 price point category.
Established in 1987, Tasters Guild consists of more than 40 active chapters throughout country that bring together consumers, wine and food, and the wine and food service industries. The local chapters provide activity and ongoing wine and food events for their members and guests. Tasters Guild conducts an International Wine Judging each spring when newly released wines are judged by panels of experts.
“Brickyard Red” is one of two IMS-themed reserve wine offerings released in December 2008 by EOS Estate Winery, located in Paso Robles, Calif., joining the Indianapolis Motor Speedway 2006 Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon.
Both wines have earned additional accolades, as “Brickyard Red” and the IMS Cabernet Sauvignon were rated at 87 points in the August 2009 edition of Wine Enthusiast magazine and were recommended selections by Sante, a magazine for restaurant and hospitality professionals.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway wines are distributed in Indiana by National Wine & Spirits, with expanding U.S. distribution in 2009. They also are sold on the EOS Estate Winery Web site, www.eosvintage.com, or can be ordered by calling (800) 249-9463.
