DETROIT - June 23, 2009: The newly released annual J.D. Power and Associates Automotive Initial Quality Survey shows a closing gap between foreign and domestic cars. Over the last two decades, foreign automakers have developed a reputation for producing better cars than their North American competitors, often outranking them in overall value.
This year's survey shows General Motors equal to Toyota and Honda in quality and going head to head with most other brands. According to J.D. Power, the only category imports still have a lead over the domestic manufacturers is in Crossovers.
