Volkswagen Group of America Opens New Parts Distribution Center in Jacksonville

HERNDON, Va. (June 15, 2009) - Stefan Jacoby, president and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (VWGoA) will join local elected officials and community leaders in the grand opening of the company's parts distribution center in Jacksonville, Fla., June 18 at 1:00 pm.

The 260,000 square foot center represents at $30 million investment by Volkswagen Group of America in the Jacksonville area. The new center employs 40 people and services 115 Volkswagen and Audi dealers throughout the Southeast. Through use of the latest technologies that increase efficiency and reduce energy consumption, the state of the art facility reinforces the company's commitment to a sustainable future.

As Volkswagen Group of America looks to triple its sales by 2018, the new parts distribution center is another example of the company's investment and commitment to the U.S. market. Last year, the company announced it was building a new manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, Tenn., and opened new corporate headquarters in Herndon, Va.
