Runoffs Registration Opens Wednesday, June 3

TOPEKA, June 2, 2009: The first phase of registration for the 2009 SCCA National Championship Runoffs begins Wednesday, June 3 at 9 a.m. (CDT). The initial phase is open to drivers who have participated in at least the last 10-consecutive Runoffs events and all volunteers.

Driver and volunteer registration for the event is available online through www.scca.com/Runoffs. A paper driver registration form is also available for download here or by calling the SCCA Club Racing office at 785-232-7229.

New for 2009, drivers who have current consecutive Runoffs participation streaks may pre-register for the event, be it through online or paper registration. There are three registration dates based on these streaks:

- Drivers with a streak of 10 or more consecutive Runoffs events (including 2008) may register beginning June 3 at 9 a.m. (CDT)

- Drivers with a streak of 1 to 9 consecutive Runoffs events (including 2008) may register beginning June 10 at 9 a.m. (CDT)

- All drivers are eligible to register from June 17 at 9 a.m. (CDT) until registration closes Tuesday, September 8 at midnight.

Once drivers have registered, they will receive a special confirmation code and instructions on how to reserve paddock space through Road America’s Web site. Car numbers from 2008 will be held for a driver until July 1. Conflicts due to combined class groupings will be resolved on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, registration for Monday’s test day will also be available once event registration has been completed.
