Topeka, June 2, 2009: Rookie Top Alcohol Dragster driver, Dan Kracht made a nice semi-final round finish at this past weekends NHRA O’Rielly Summer Nationals. Nineteen teams competed for top honors at Heartland Pak Raceway that saw hot temperatures and close racing across the event.

Kracht made three very consistent passes to qualify the Meyer Racing A/Fuel dragster in the number six position. Times ranged from 5.409 seconds, 5.446 seconds and 5.427 second passes through out qualifying.

First round of eliminations paired Kracht against Brittany Force. Kracht had starting line advantage and matched his qualifying effort with another 5.409 seconds pass at 254.62 mph to take the win.

Round two of competition Kracht lined up against Texan driver, Michael Manners. Again, Kracht had starting line advantage and was able to hold on for a holeshot win. The Meyer Racing A/Fuel dragster ran impressive 5.375 at 264.18 mph pass to take the win over Manners quicker 5.336 at 264.49 mph run.

Meyer and Kracht’s semi-final opponent was veteran driver, Tom Conway. Kracht had to chase Conway off the starting line but was able to drive round him just after the 60ft timers and held on until half track when Conway pulled away to take the win by 0.0397 seconds or 15 ft. Kracht drove the Meyer A/Fuel dragster to another impressive 5.382 seconds at 264.72 mph run to close out a consistent weekend.

“Randy seems to be really getting a handle on this A/Fuel dragster” says Kracht “I really enjoy driving it and once again all the credit really goes to the best crew in the Alcohol ranks. This crew works hard to make sure I have the best car out there. Driving is easy when a car runs good and is in perfect shape. When I drive I have no worries but to stand on it and get from A to B as straight as possible. I want to thank them for their support and dedication to winning.”

The Meyer Racing team with Dan Kracht will now take a break until the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event held at Cordova Dragway Park across August 5-7.
