WEYBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM – May 26, 2009: Roary the Racing Car and his mechanic, Big Chris, will be providing credit-crunching fun for all the family at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge over 30 and 31 May, in celebration of the launch of Kinderclass, a unique, new initiative by Mercedes-Benz designed to promote safe travel with children.
Fun for All the Family
From 10am-4pm over the weekend,
families can enjoy a host of fantastic free activities including face
painting and competitions. Young visitors will be given the chance tomeet
Roary the Racing Car, receive a goody bag from his mechanic Big Chris, and
cut their racing-driver teeth on an exciting pedal car racing track.
In addition, Surrey Fire and Rescue will be on hand to teach kids all about fire safety and life as a fire fighter, whilst the Royal Life Saving Society will be offering parents free first aid classes covering baby and child resuscitation. Surrey-based company, Tiny Treasures, will also be demonstrating their exclusive range of hand-print charms and offering a handful of lucky visitors the chance to win their own exclusive design by entering a hand print competition designed for the under 5’s.
Safe and Secure on the Road
Specifically designed to help
equip parents with all the knowledge that they need to travel safely with
children, Kinderclass comprises a free car seat fitting advice service
showing how to choose the correct car seat, and more importantly how to fit
it safely and securely. In addition, a complementary car seat check will be
on offer all weekend, to ensure existing car seats are fitted correctly
whatever the seat, whatever the car.
There is also a brand new Kinderclass Driving Experience purposely created to teach parents and grandparents how to drive safely with children in the car or even whilst pregnant.
Surrey parents will be the first in the UK to sample this experience, which covers driving in extreme conditions such as on ice and slippery surfaces, reducing car sickness and practical demonstrations of how distractions can put drivers and their child at risk.
Kinderlcass designers are currently working on a new range of child seats giving the ultimate in protection and maximum comfort along with contemporary design features. The range will also encompass an innovative collection of travel systems, buggies and push-chairs using the very latest in design technology to provide elegant solutions for family mobility in and out of the car. A new website, Kinderclass.co.uk, will offer a members area, ask the expert service, a family friendly route finder and much more…
Ruth Pucci, Kinderclass Project Manager at Mercedes-Benz World, explained: “The safety of a child is every parent’s number one priority, particularly when out on the road, which is why we have launched Kinderclass. From car seats and advice, to unique experiences which put their driving skills to the test, Kinderclass offers parents everything they need to ensure their children are safe when they’re out and about. We encourage everyone to come along to the family fun weekend to find out what it’s all about, and have a great time too!”
