Tooele, May 25, 2009: A tough fight at last weekend's Larry H. Miller Dealerships ALMS Championship round at Miller Motorsports Park earned the #37 Intersport Lola, driven by Chapman Ducote teamed with Clint and Jon Field, garnered another hard-won podium; the team's third podium in as many events. From Saturdays' qualifying session throughout Sunday's checkered flag, the team had to fight hard to stay in the hunt. The car had gearbox issues during qualfying that kept Jon Field from starting further up the grid, but when the green flew an outstanding start allowed Field to move up from 7th to 2nd by the first corner. However, the aggressive move put him in harms way when two of the following prototypes missed their braking points and plowed into the rear of the car, causing diffuser damage. If that wasn't enough, a traffic cone had made it's way on to the circuit as the leader rounded the first corner, and in the process of recovering from the rear-end contact, Field also scooped up the errant cone, where it subsequently lodged itself under the front spoiler.

Regardless of the dual mishaps, Field was flying. However, at the thirty minute mark a change of tires and fuel was in order, and the stop put the team back in twelfth before they could get back on the track. As the other competitors began to cycle in and out of the pit, however, Field again started picking up positions. In the meantime, however, an engine sensor had gone south necessitating another stop to repair the problem, again the pushing the team back in the race order. Clint Field then took up the fight for his stint and while the team was getting closer to the front they were still out of range of a podium. When Ducote took the car and immediately found himself threatened by veteran Stephan Johansson who attempted to make life hard for Chapman. Nonetheless, Ducote persevered, held his position, and subsequently secured another poduim for the Intersport Racing stable.

"It was great race, with lots of action, and all green flag racing which definitely threw a monkey wrench in some team's strategies" said Ducote. "We had our share of drama, but as usual the crew makes things happen and keeps us running strong, those guys are the best"
