PORT ELIZABETH, SOUTH AFRICA – May 22, 2009: General Motors South Africa (GMSA) commemorated the International Candlelight Memorial Week at the company’s two plants this week. The Candlelight Memorial event is held annually to honour the lives of those lost to Aids related illnesses, support to people living with HIV and to raise social consciousness about the disease.

Learners from GMSA’s 2009 project School, Kwamagxaki High School, were present at the lunchtime event. Every year the company selects a project school where learners are trained to be peer educators and additional lifeskills training is provided.
