The Ibiza FR and CUPRA in the Sales Network Before the Beginning of Summer
MARTORELL, SPAIN – May 18, 2009: The sportiest versions of the Ibiza range, the FR and the CUPRA, will be available across the official dealership network in Spain before the start of summer to round off the extensive range of the popular Spanish model. Both exclusive vehicles making their sales debut accurately represent the values that SEAT applies to all its models – innovative design, sporty character and naturally, a large dose of vitality.
The twin-charged 1.4 TSI engine found on the Ibiza FR develops 150 hp, while the same engine on the Ibiza CUPRA has an output of 180 hp. Furthermore, the seven-speed DSG gearbox is mated to the engine on both models, which also feature steering wheel shift paddles and an extensive standard equipment line-up.
The Ibiza range’s sportiest models are equipped with elements such as the XDS electronic self-blocking mechanism, ABS, ESP, TCS + EBA, Hill Hold Assist, driver and passenger airbag, head-chest airbag, low tyre pressure warning, trip computer, cruise control, CD-MP3 radio with six speakers and aux-in connection, climate control, special sport seats and cornering foglights, among others.
Both models feature outstanding sporty styling on the exterior as well as the interior, and carry distinctive design elements that are sure to satisfy even the most discerning drivers.
The Ibiza FR – available with the SC and 5-door body styles, and the CUPRA – exclusively available in its SC version –, feature the same optional equipment as on the rest of the range, and both will be manufactured in SEAT’s Martorell factory near Barcelona.
