CANADA, May 16, 2009: Andy Pilgrim, of Boca Raton, Fla., was fastest Friday morning in the first practice session for this weekend’s SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT Round Four race, part of the Victoria Day Speedfest at Mosport International Raceway. K-Pax Volvo teammate Randy Pobst, of Gainesville, Ga., and Dino Crescentini, of Manhattan Beach, Calif., completed the top three in a session that only saw five cars take to the track due to damp conditions.

Driving the No. 8 K-Pax Racing Volvo S60, Pilgrim’s all-wheel-drive propelled him to a best lap time of 1:43.860 (85.234 mph) around the 2.459-mile, 10-turn circuit. Pobst was the only other driver within five seconds of Pilgrim with his No. 1 K-Pax Racing Volvo, turning a 1:45.033 (84.282 mph).

Crescentini was third fastest in his No. 4 Stoptech/GMG Porsche 911 GT3 in his first series appearance since a vicious accident at Long Beach during practice last month. Jeff Courtney (No. 99 KENDA/JTM IWM/Coins of America Dodge Viper) and Gunter Schaldach (No. 9 Lala Motorsports Dodge Viper) completed the top five.

The second World Challenge GT practice session is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. (EDT). Sunday’s race is scheduled to make its standing start at 1:20 p.m. For live timing and scoring, lap notes and streaming audio, please visit www.world-challenge.com.
