Leonard Lopez of Dominator Street Rods to Appear at WyoTech Sacramento's 5th Annual Car Show on May 16, 2009

Award-winning street rod builder Leonard Lopez, of Brentwood, California’s famed Dominator Street Rods, will be a special guest at WyoTech Sacramento’s 5th Annual Car Show on May 16, 2009. Lopez, who was recently honored at the 2009 San Francisco Rod, Custom & Motorcycle Show as “Trendsetter of the Year,” plans to bring out several of his creations for display as well as sign autographs, and address the crowd. In addition to receiving the “Builder of the Year” award at the Grand National Roadster Show, Lopez and Dominator Street Rods have been featured on TLC’s “Rides” and he is the only multi-year winner of the coveted Rod D’Elegance award.

Local and national car clubs will also be vying for WyoTech’s unique student-built trophies and the right to follow in the footsteps of last year’s “Best of Show” winner, Jim Conley and his Chevy Sedan Delivery, “One Bad Apple.” Judging will be done by WyoTech students and Leonard Lopez who will select one deserving entrant to receive the award. The first 100 entries will receive a free goody bag.

Admission is free to the public with plenty of activities scheduled for the day including raffles, music and food. In addition, the show will feature local industry vendors, an ARMY climbing wall, and a 98 ROCK live radio remote. Instructors from WyoTech’s automotive technical programs will be hosting demonstrations in the school’s various shops.
