Visteon Wins Quality Excellence Performance Award from Toyota for Components Supplied in Brazil

SAU PAULO, May 5, 2009 -- Visteon in Brazil recently received Toyota's Quality Excellence Performance Award, at Toyota's Seventh Annual Mercosul Suppliers Conference.

This award recognizes outstanding performance in 2008. The Quality Excellence Performance Award was established by Toyota to recognize suppliers' performance in quality, cost and delivery.

Visteon has been supplying immobilizers to Toyota in Brazil since March 2008, and has delivered zero defective parts per million on this program.

The immobilizer is a passive anti-theft system that is connected to the ignition and fuel injection systems of the vehicle. It is able to identify if the key inserted into the ignition is the correct one; if it is, the driver is able to start the vehicle's engine. The product was developed in Germany and is manufactured at Visteon's Cadiz Plant in Spain and at the Arbor Plant in Brazil.

"This award is a result of our dedication to provide customers with the highest quality products and outstanding service," said Andreas Jancso, Visteon's director, South America customer business group. "We are extremely proud to receive this honor. Such recognition from customers reinforces our capability to win future business and adds to the relationship between Toyota and Visteon."

According to Alfeu Doria, Visteon's director, South America electronics product group, this award recognizes the hard work of the teams involved in Europe and Brazil. "This award is a result of Visteon's global manufacturing and engineering footprint combined with our commitment to achieve excellence," he said. "We will continue to provide quality products and outstanding service for our customers to further strengthen our position as a supplier of choice."
