Seat & Armin van Buuren Successful with Marathon Radio Show


MARTORELL, SPAIN – April 30, 2009: 72 hours of non-stop radio, 26 hours of live performances from Germany, the UK and the Netherlands. An estimated 4.5 million listeners through 20 FM radio stations on the opening night. More than 200,000 unique online visitors on the website listening to and watching live music streams for an average of 2.5 hours. With these impressive figures the most popular DJ in the world, Armin van Buuren, celebrated the 400th edition of his radio show ‘A State of Trance’ (ASOT) this weekend.

Van Buuren: “This was probably one of the best weekends in my career as a DJ.” SEAT, a close partner of Armin for years, was the main sponsor of the marathon radio show and transported the DJ to his concerts in the various countries in style in the new SEAT Exeo.

On April 16, 17 and 18 DJ Armin van Buuren celebrated the 400th edition of his popular radio show ‘A State of Trance’ in a more than appropriate way through a 72 hour radio show, including three live concerts in Germany, the UK and The Netherlands respectively. Over 60 DJ’s cooperated in the live jubilee broadcast of ‘A State of Trance’. The grand finale took place in the Maassilo in Rotterdam last Saturday.

Tight time schedule
Being the official partner of Armin van Buuren and the main sponsor of the marathon radio broadcast of ‘A State of Trance’, SEAT was closely involved in this successful event, organized by Armada Music and Dancefoundation. For three days SEAT provided a brand new, chauffeured SEAT Exeo to ensure that Armin could maintain his tight time schedule and arrive comfortably and on time at the concert locations in Germany, the UK and The Netherlands.

The live marathon broadcast of ‘A State of Trance 400’ was recorded on video. Over 200,000 unique visitors from 123 countries joined the live video streams and the web radio. On various web forums tens of thousands of messages were posted. Experiences were exchanged and the Music was discussed by the fans. Worldwide ASOT400 was the most discussed subject on Twitter during virtually the whole event.

“It really gave me the feeling of being a pioneer,” Van Buuren commented. “It is great to provide a worldwide audience with a good impression of the atmosphere in the club and backstage.”

Like SEAT, Armin van Buuren is very pleased with the huge success of the jubilee event. Van Buuren: “It appeared as if everyone really came for the music, just like the people at home transforming their houses into mini clubs during the event. It really was fantastic. We are planning to do this more often, it is really is the future!”
