Weston, April 2009: TAG Heuer “Avant-Garde” Eyewear has announced a partnership with well-known Harley-Davidson retailer and racing enthusiast, Pat Rogers. As the owner of numerous car and motorcycle dealerships, including Pat Rogers Speedway Harley-Davidson near Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, Rogers will consult with TAG Heuer Eyewear on their motorcycling and racing-inspired collections.

“Pat brings tremendous expertise, experience and knowledge to the table,” explained Guillaume Pottecher, President of Logo of the Americas, distributors of TAG Heuer Eyewear. “This partnership reinforces our commitment to providing the high-performance community with innovative sunwear that truly delivers the precision and durability they need.”

TAG Heuer Eyewear creates numerous racing-inspired collections, including high-performance Speedway sunwear, created in consultation with Formula 1 champion Kimi Räikkönen. Racing DNA runs so strongly in TAG Heuer Eyewear’s culture that many of its collections, such as the recently released Squadra, are designed to fit comfortably under a helmet. “Safety is key in this industry, and shatter-resistance and aerodynamic design are built into TAG Heuer sunwear,” said Rogers. “These are truly cutting-edge products.”

Known for its legendary timepieces, TAG Heuer spent years developing its first eyewear product for the US market in 2002. The brand quickly built a reputation for innovation, starting with borrowing technology from Formula 1 racing for the non-slip moulded rubber coating on the arms of its groundbreaking Zenith sunglasses. Anti-reflective and hydrophobic coatings on its ophthalmic-quality lenses, the extensive use of lightweight titanium, and the introduction of “Night Vision” lenses for use in low-light conditions add to TAG Heuer Eyewear’s reputation as a technological innovator.
