A NEW ERA FOR OFF-ROAD RACING AND ROSS HOEK MOTORSPORTS
April 22, 2009 (Holland MI) - Ross Hoek Motorsports has been
preparing for the 2009 off-road race season since last October, even
though the off-season has been filled with the uncertainty of not
knowing when and where everyone was going to race. Ultimately, Ross
knew there would be racing in the Midwest, but didn?t know if his team
would be heading to the West Coast.
The off-season wasn?t just the usual race truck maintenance, or
building his race winning chassis? for his fellow competitors, but
exploring new marketing avenues to find funding for the team?s
upcoming season. The condition of our country?s economy combined with
all the change in the sport, has seen teams, like Ross Hoek
Motorsports, look to very creative ways to help fund their motorsports
program.
?I knew new marketing partners would be hard to come by due to the
economy and the recent changes to our sport,? notes Ross Hoek. ?Our
new series, The Off-Road Championship series, which has combined the
stability of Midwest off-road racing, strength of USAC sanctioning,
and the non-stop publicity generated by the series leader,
Motocross/Supercross legend Ricky Johnson, is a can?t miss
combination. This series is positioned to continue to bring our form
of motorsports to mainstream.?
With less than a month before the start of the inaugural season of
the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL, Ross and his team are
still searching for title sponsors. Currently, Ross has been able to
keep most, if not all, of his product sponsors on board for 2009. RHM
has also added new key companies to keep his team at its peak. This is
especially important to RHM, as the team builds upon the success of
his PRO-2WD World Championship® title.
?We are constantly looking to improve the performance of our
PRO-2WD truck, creating marketing partnerships through product use,
helps us with our competitive edge. Product partners are extremely
important to our team,? states Hoek. ?The need for title sponsors
allows us to fund our personnel and travel expenses as well as other
overhead.?
As of press time, here are six new RHM marketing partners for the
2009 season.
The RHM race truck will be tearing up the track on KUMHO Road
Venture tires. The #21 will be the latest Kumho factory supported
off-road race team.
Johnson Controls will be supplying OPTIMA BATTERIES for all the
team?s battery needs. This isn?t limited just to the race trucks, but
the transporter, as well as all the needs in the race and CNC machine
shop.
In 2009 Ross will be securely strapped in to an INNOVATIVE SAFETY
PRODUCTS ISP-108 energy management seat. The seat is specifically
designed to endure the repeated abuse seen in off-road competition.
The design of the ISP-108 maximizes the safety and comfort of the
driver which will reduce driver fatigue and improve driver control.
BAER BRAKE SYSTEMS had added Ross Hoek Motorsports to its team of
factory backed team of racers.
?It was an easy decision for us? states Ben O?Connor, Sales Manager
for Baer. ?Ross? popularity with the fans and a true understanding of
the Sponsor/Racer relationship made this an easy decision. Ross brings
many years of experience coupled with a proven track record.?
Ross will be using Baer?s newest caliper design, the 6PSC; a
caliper designed specifically for short course competition, on both
his Pro-2 and Pro-4 trucks this year.
?We took a hard look at what is currently used in Off-Road
competition and set out to design a superior caliper,? explains
O?Connor. ?We took a lot of what we learned from our 20+ years of
experience in the Road Race market and incorporated all the best
features of those caliper designs and included the necessities needed
for Off-Road use. Such features as: internal cross-over tubes and a
superior, wear resistant ?hard-coat? anodizing; used to extend the
service life of the caliper by preventing high wear rates due to
abrasion from mud packing and debris. ?We feel very confident we have
the best caliper available for this sport?.
Inside the Baer 6PSC calipers, RHM will be using the brake pad
compounds from HAWK PERFORMANCE BRAKES.
The suspension of the PRO-2WD truck has been upgraded with the use
of SWIFT SPRINGS. The Japanese manufactured springs are well known
throughout the world in the sports car and tuner markets. RHM will be
spearheading the company?s first major project into the world of
off-road racing.

About Ross Hoek Motorsports
After several years of development and competition, Ross Hoek applied
his design and fabrication talents together to create the affordable
RHM PRO-2 chassis. In 2007 his idea went from concept to reality.
Recently RHM moved into a 36,000 sq. ft. facility, located in Holland,
MI, putting his CNC tooling, materials storage, and fabrication all
under one roof. The larger building gives RHM the ability to produce
more PRO-2 chassis? quicker and at a very competitive price. Ross?
goal has always been to use his CAD/CAM capabilities to produce the
best pro-2 chassis for everyman, from entry level fabricator on a
budget, to Championship level teams. For more information visit:
