ZURICH, SCHWITZERLAND – April 22, 2009: The Chevrolet Cruze WTCC is soon to become a movie star in France, as it will feature in a spectacular stunt to be included in “Aveuglement” (‘Blindly’, in English), a TV movie produced by French TV channel TF-1 and currently being shot.

The fiction tells the story of a blind young man and motorsport lover, who manages to take part in car races thanks to his abilities and with the support of a friend who serves as his “guide” in the passenger seat. Directed by Charlotte Brandstorm and featuring French actors Bernard Le Coq and Stéphane Debac, the fiction will be released next October.

The Chevrolet Cruze WTCC appearing in the movie is the very first prototype of the Cruze WTCC, code-named J300, which was used for the initial development phase of the project and was otherwise destined to scrapping. The spectacular stunt scene featuring the Cruze, in which the car rolls several times and ends on its side, was shot in France and coordinated by world-famous stuntmen Michel Julienne, who is perpetuating the tradition initiated by his father Rémi. “Everything went extremely well”, commented Michel Julienne, “The Cruze rolled four times and the images are really great! It has been a terrific plus to count on such an impressive car and on Chevrolet’s assistance. It does not happen often that we can offer stunts of this quality in a TV movie”.
