Renault-Nissan Alliance And Leaseplan to Build Zero-Emission Future in Europe

ROLLE, SWITZERLAND – April 16, 2009: LeasePlan, the European market leader in fleet and vehicle management, and the Renault-Nissan Alliance today announced their collaboration in a partnership for Zero-Emission Mobility, an initiative bringing electric mobility to the global markets.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) the two parties will study ways to promote the use of electric vehicles and they will investigate the options for a commercial approach towards corporate fleet customers. The MOU also intends to define the terms and conditions for the supply by the Alliance of electric vehicles to LeasePlan and its clients.

Netherlands-based company LeasePlan has a global presence with offices in 30 countries and manages 1.4 million vehicles. LeasePlan is the first international fleet and vehicle management company certified by TÜV Rheinland for its sustainability initiative GreenPlan. GreenPlan was globally introduced in 2007 and supports LeasePlan’s clients in their environmental engagement to reduce CO2 emissions from their car fleet. The Alliance has begun ZEV initiatives in Kanagawa Prefecture and Yokohama in Japan, as well as in Israel, Denmark, Portugal, Monaco, UK, France, Switzerland, Ireland and China.

In the United States, the Alliance is exploring ways to promote zero-emission mobility and the development of an EV infrastructure in the State of Tennessee, the State of Oregon, Sonoma County and San Diego in California, and Tucson and Phoenix in Arizona.

The Alliance has formed partnerships with 21 governments, cities and other organizations to advance the deployment of EVs worldwide.
