The all-electric model is likely to be based on Junjie FRV as its prototype and its powertrain system will be possibly driven by fuel cells, a Brilliance insider said. The carmaker has set down a strategy regarding to new energy vehicle development, which includes R&D of fuel application technology, hybrid vehicles and fuel cell electrical vehicle.
Brilliance Auto will showcase eight models at the Shanghai auto show, including four new cars that are scheduled to go on sale after June, according to Liu.
The carmaker reportedly plans to roll out the FRV sedan, Junjie FRV Cross and some other models this year. It is set to promote a series of economic cars with about 1.0L engines in the future, too.
