TOPEKA, Kan. April 2, 2009: The first of four legs for the newly announced SCCA Club Racing Super Sweep begins this weekend with the Cal Club April Double National at Buttonwillow Raceway Park.
Unveiled at the 2009 SCCA National Convention, the SCCA Super Sweep takes the concept of the Chicago Region SCCA Triple Crown® one step further. Requiring wins in four categories, the Super Sweep will be the most challenging accomplishment an SCCA Club Racing driver can achieve.
To complete a Super Sweep, a driver must: win at one of nine key National races, earn a Divisional class points championship, take class win at the Runoffs® and win the newly formulated nationwide point structure, all in the same class.
The first National event from leg one of the SCCA Super Sweep takes place April 4th at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. All drivers who win their class in Race One of the doubleheader weekend will have completed the first leg of the Super Sweep.
