LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – March 23, 2009: Salon Privé, the exclusive international showcase for the world’s leading automotive brands, is once again set to offer its visitors an outstanding line-up of leading specialist and luxury automotive brands, set in the exclusive surroundings of London’s Hurlingham Club on the 22nd-24th July.
David Bagley, the show’s founder, says: “The event is now in its fourth year and manufacturers of premium cars and luxury brands are increasingly recognizing the role Salon Privé plays in delivering a focused, commercially robust audience for their products. That Jaguar chose our preview night as its UK debut for its new high-performance XKR, speaks volumes. We cater for a market that cannot be met satisfactorily by mainstream car shows.”
Jaguar UK Managing Director, Geoff Cousins said: "The luxury character of the new generation XKR equates to the prestigious nature of Salon Privé held at London's Hurlingham Club, making it the ideal venue for the UK debut of the car. Building on 60 years of legendary performance, the new XKR represents contemporary, sporting luxury and exceptional quality of craftsmanship.”
The Salon Privé preview night treated guests to some of the outstanding highlights that will be appearing at the event in July. Alongside the debut of Jaguar’s new all-new 5.0-litre supercharged V8-engined XKR was another car that appeared in public for the first time. The new Veritas RS III is a V10 powered, 600 horse power super car, capable of 0-63mph in 3.2 seconds and capable of a top speed of over 200mph.
David Bagley continued: “Veritas is an historic German sports and racing car brand that first appeared in the 1940’s, and which has now been re-launched as an ultra-exclusive super car that will be limited to a production run of only 60 vehicles. Veritas believes that its appearance at Salon Privé will deliver them exactly the right audience for its new car, and we are honoured to have them on board.”
Just some of the super car marques on display include: Aspid Cars, Breckland Technology, Faralli & Mazzanti, Koenigsegg, Lotus Cars, Overfinch, Pagani, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and Spyker with many more to be announced shortly.
The event will also feature an ultra-valuable collection of some of the world’s most beautiful and rare automobiles including a Horch 853, a Mercedes SSK and a Ferrari Monza in its exclusive Concours D’Elégance. Hand-selected by renowned experts, there will be six categories featuring approximately 50 sensational cars and all will be elegantly displayed on the lawns of the Hurlingham Club.
