Sebring, March 19, 2009: Markus Niemela finished up two days of qualifying for this year's first 2009 Atlantic Championship Powered By Mazda event at Sebring, marking the beginning of his attempt to win back-to-back Championships. The young Finn posted a fourth-best time in today's session, however, based on total time averaged across the two qualifying sessions, he will start outside of row three for tomorrow's event.

“Our results today are not an accurate representation of how fast we are. Yesterday I was on a flier my last lap when I came upon a much slower car and went off to avoid hitting them. Today the track was very slow, but I am very comfortable with my car and looking forward to a good race tomorrow. We’re starting a couple of rows further back than I would have liked, but we’ll see what happens.”
