Gainesville, FL. March 18, 2009: Being a new NHRA Top Alcohol driver means experiencing new sensations, new procedures, and of course new driving lessons in competition. But for Dan Kracht this weekends past event showed the rookie’s potential for the Randy Meyer Racing team that they are serious about going rounds.

The GatorNationals event hosted some twenty-two Top Alcohol Dragster teams trying to qualify for the sixteen car field. Meyer and Kracht earned their place in the show with a solid 5.50 seconds pass at 253.23 mph pass placing them twelfth in the field.

In round one of Saturday’s competition, Kracht continued to shine with his impressive start-line leaving abilities, winning on a holeshot over Robin Samsel with a 0.027 reaction time. Kracht continued to add merit with a career best 5.482 at 254.04 mph pass to oust Samsel’s quicker 5.428 seconds run.

Kracht and Meyer lined up against another newbie, Michael Manners in round two of competition. Kracht whose reaction times have been the focal point for the team’s success this weekend continued as he edged out Manners on the startling line with a 0.043 to 0.126 in reaction times. But Manners proved too strong in the top end running 5.27 seconds pass to defeat Kracht’s career best 5.405 at 262.49 mph pass.

“It was pretty neat and a lot of fun” comments Kracht “I am really looking forward to going to Houston now I know what to expect as Randy’s experience in the sport made for a smooth weekend. When you get to drive for some like Randy it really makes the transition much easier I think then if I would of have gone with anyone else.”

“We are determined to get the car back on track to be a top contender which has been the reason for our pre season testing.” said Meyer “I am thankful to have a driver like dan, who is doing such a great job and winning us rounds.”

The Meyer team come out and qualified Kracht’s at his first NHRA competition event, run career best times each pass and won rounds on hole-shot’s. Meyer and Kracht walk away from a great weekend at the GatorNationals where they were the underdogs and were successful in beating out other racers.
