Nissan Announces Management Changes and Regional Structure Update

ROLLE, Switzerland — March 13, 2009 – In its efforts to get the company through the current economic crisis and at the same time strategically position Nissan when conditions improve, Nissan International S.A. (NISA) today announced a series of executive appointments effective April 1, 2009. In addition, the newly created regional organisation that includes Africa, Middle East, India and Europe (AMIE), as announced by the CEO on February 9th, will be structured with one Management Committee (MC) and two Operation Committees (OC) chaired by Colin Dodge. The two Operation Committees are OC-E for Europe and OC-AMI for Africa, Middle-East and India.

"Given the current market conditions, our priority is to focus on the recovery plan and prepare Nissan for when the market turns around,” said Colin Dodge, senior vice president and chief recovery officer for Nissan. “I am confident that with this team in place they will work hard and remain just as focused on the core business that will help us overcome the challenges we face today.”

The executive changes are as follows:

Hideto MURAKAMI, Senior Vice President Research & Development NE is promoted to Corporate Vice President Global LCV Business Unit, reporting to Andy PALMER, SVP NML. His successor will be announced at a later date.

Toru SAITO, Senior Vice President Eastern Sales Operations NE is promoted to Corporate Vice President Global Infiniti Business Unit, reporting to Andy PALMER, SVP NML. CEE and East MDs will now report to Simon Thomas.

Simon THOMAS, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing and Western Europe Sales Operations, is appointed SVP, Sales & Marketing Europe (OC-E). Simon will be based in Rolle and be in charge of all RBUs, and relevant S&M operational functions in both NISA and NESAS, reporting to Colin DODGE, MC-AMIE Chairman and Chief Recovery Officer.

Gilles NORMAND, is appointed Corporate Vice President for Africa, Middle-East and India Operations (OC-AMI). He will be located in Tokyo and be in charge of all related consolidated companies and relevant operational functions in NML. In addition, he will be responsible for the Infiniti and LCV Business-Units for the AMIE region. Gilles will be reporting to Colin DODGE, MC-AMIE Chairman and CRO.

Nick NODA, Vice President Human Resources NE is appointed to Calsonic Kansei Corporation, Japan.

Danny GRIFFITHS, Director Human Resources UK Operations is promoted to Vice President Human Resources NE, based in NISA, Rolle, Switzerland. He will report to

Eric NICOLAS Senior Vice President, Administration & Finance NE. He will also, for the time being, retain his current responsibilities in addition to taking up the Vice President role.

James WRIGHT, Vice President Infiniti Europe is appointed Vice President Infiniti Business Unit AMIE, reporting to Gilles NORMAND CVP and Toru SAITO, CVP Global Infiniti BU. James will be based in Rolle, Switzerland.

Dominique CORREZE, Vice President LCV European Business Unit is appointed Vice President LCV Business Unit AMIE, reporting to Gilles NORMAND, CVP and Hideto MURAKAMI, CVP Global LCV BU. Dominique will be based in Rolle, Switzerland.
