New Volkswagen Genuine Parts Distribution Centre Opens in Australia

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – March 9, 2009: Volkswagen Group Australia has officially opened its new Genuine Parts Distribution Centre in Melbourne.

The distribution centre has doubled Volkswagen’s parts storage capability which will enable more efficient distribution of genuine parts to Volkswagen Passenger, Volkswagen Commercial, Skoda and Audi dealers.

It will primarily service Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. Nationally, customers can expect improved service levels from the dealer network.

Volkswagen’s General Manager of Parts, Mr Greg Burden, revealed the decision to invest in the new Genuine Parts Distribution Centre was necessary due to the huge growth in Volkswagen genuine parts sales over the past three years.

“The Genuine Parts Distribution Centre will complement the existing distribution centre in Homebush, Sydney which will continue to service New South Wales, Queensland and the ACT,” said Mr Burden.

“Volkswagen Genuine Replacement Parts are the same as original parts. They are designed to precise factory specifications, are built to last and are backed by Volkswagen's warranty.”
