SURREY, B.C., Canada, March 4, 2009: Techniques that have proven to lower race car drivers’ lap times by over 1 second will be disclosed at a special “Inner Speed Secrets” seminar on Saturday, March 28 at the BeaveRun Motorsports Complex in Wampum, Pa., just outside Pittsburgh.
Ross Bentley, a former CART Indy car driver, a Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona winner and the author of the popular series of Speed Secrets books, will present the seminar. It will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at approximately 4:30 p.m. Lunch and materials will be included in the cost of the seminar, which at $295 is a lot less than a set of tires.
Participants who register before March 15 can save $50 as part of an early-bird special. Seating is limited, so attendees are encouraged to book early. To register, e-mail the seminar organizers at info@speedsecrets.com, or call toll-free at (766) 773-7198. Additional information is available on the Internet at SPEED SECRETS. A video description can be found at THE SPEED SECRETS - VIDEO.
Although the seminar is particularly relevant to race car drivers, it will also appeal to all drivers who participate in track days, autocrosses and other performance events.
Bentley will explain the Speed Secrets mental process — how the driver’s mind works and how this knowledge is used to produce better results behind the wheel. Topics that will be covered include tips on how to improve concentration, how to lower lap times without big changes to the car’s set-up, mental imagery, and how to improve one’s feel for the limit of the car’s capabilities on any particular circuit. Learning to achieve the proverbial “zone” of high performance will be one of the most valuable outcomes of the seminar.
The Tire Rack “Cannonball One Lap of America” school will also be held at BeaveRun that weekend. Arrangements can also be made for one-on-one instruction by Speed Secrets coaches for those who wish to book track time at the facility.
