Meijer Extends Kentucky Speedway NASCAR Nationwide And Indycar Series Event Partnership

All Kentucky Speedway Races to Carry Primary Sponsorship in 2009

SPARTA, Ky. March 5, 2009: Kentucky Speedway announces Meijer has extended its sponsorships of the NASCAR Nationwide and IndyCar Series 300-mile events staged at the motorsports facility.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series "Meijer 300 Presented by Ritz" will be held June 13 and the IndyCar Series "Meijer Indy 300 Presented by Red Baron and Edy's" will conclude an Aug. 1 doubleheader that begins with a Firestone Indy Lights 100-mile event.

Meijer also will be the track's "Official Supercenter" for a seventh consecutive season. Meijer will receive promotional category exclusivity, facility advertising/ signage, luxury suite access, promotional considerations and event tickets for both races.

"Our Kentucky Speedway events provide a great way to extend the Meijer brand to our customers, many of whom are members of the fiercely brand-loyal motorsports community," said Cathy Cooper, director of promotions and partnerships. "Our position as the ‘Official Supercenter of Kentucky Speedway' is a great fit for our organization because our Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio team members are always ready to help race fans with everything they require to make the most of a race weekend or simply their day."

Meijer operates 185 Supercenters that employ more than 60,000 team members in five states. Supercenters offer a full grocery department as well as more than 40 other departments such as fashion, automotive, home decor, health and beauty care, pharmacy, electronics and pet care.

The four-weekend, six-race Kentucky Speedway opens May 9 with the ARCA RE/MAX Series "Drive Smart. Buckle-Up! Kentucky 150." In addition to the "Meijer 300" events, Kentucky Speedway also will feature the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series "Built Ford Tough 225 Presented by the Greater Cincinnati Ford Dealers" July 18 as part of a doubleheader race day that includes the ARCA RE/MAX Series "Click it or Ticket. Buckle-Up! Kentucky 150."

Value-packed Kentucky Speedway season ticket plans are on sale now and from $165 to $255, meaning fans can enjoy a reserved seat for each of the six race events for as little as $27.50. Benefit-rich plans also include VIP parking for each event which can be exchanged for general campground admission for a savings of $30, one cold pit pass for each race day with each ticket purchased and the opportunity to purchase additional race tickets at a discount.

Mitchell, Ky., at 400 Buttermilk Pike, Suite 100 near the Montgomery Inn restaurant or the track Fan Center located off of Interstate 71 Exit 57 and Ky. Hwy. 35 N in Sparta, Ky.

Single race tickets, including newly-launched "Big Deals" that feature select race tickets starting at $20," also are on sale now and can be reserved by calling 888-652-RACE (7223), through the tickets pages of the official track Web site, speedway ticket offices and Meijer stores.
