West Lebanon, NY: Enough of the “Doom and Gloom”, it’s time to get ready for some racing action at the legendary ‘high banks’ of Lebanon Valley Speedway. The 57th Season at the Valley of Speed is set to give the race fans all they’ve asked for, plus much, much more!

Saturday April 18th, 2009 is the day that all Capital Region race fans have been waiting for since the drop of the checkered flag back in September ‘08. The 2008 season ended on a high for Big Block Modified Co-Champs Mark Flach Jr and J.R. Heffner, but Heffner has move on to other opportunities, opening up the points chase for a possible repeat for Flach, or possibly a return of a Lebanon Legend to the head of the class.

There are plenty of more surprises set for this exciting year of racing at Howard Commander‘s Lebanon Valley Speedway. This season you’ll see drivers return to their old stomping grounds, and new drivers join the weekly ranks to try and tame the Valley of Speed. You’ll see the likes of Tremont, Marshall, and Sheldon, mixing it up for the top spot with Larkin, Flach, Jelley, King, and a kid named Corellis.

In addition to the schedule this year is a new series in connection with the Accord Speedway for a LV Speedway Spec/Budget Sportsman Chase. A ten race shootout is set for a combined points champion from Accord and Lebanon Valley.

More importantly, returning the schedule is a tradition that spans 30 years of racing! Thursday August 27th marks the return of "Mr. DIRT Track USA", presented by Budweiser and Hoosier Tires! With a payout of $17,500 to the winner, it guarantees to draw all the cars and stars of Northeast Big Block DirtCar Modified racing!

With Lebanon Valley and its devoted sponsors putting up big bucks in 2009, it only makes sense that the Valley of Speed gives back to its fans too! The management has decided to leave the admission prices, and food prices nearly the same as 2008!

"We still offer one of the best values for your entertainment dollar than anyone" mentions Lyle Devore, Lebanon Valley General Manager. "We have an opportunity to give families that are living on very tight budgets, the best bang for the buck in the Capital Region".

Keeping everyone's budgets in mind, Lebanon is offering plenty of events, special programs, big paying races, and the creation of new classes so everyone has the opportunity to race or to see racing.

But, in order to celebrate the 57th Season, we first have to put a cap on the 2008 season. Friday March 20th and Saturday March 21st is set to honor the 2008 point champs! With a record payout for all divisions, the 2008 points champions with get a leg up on the 2009 season. ProStocks, Pure Stocks, and Limited ProStocks will stand on the stage Friday night, while Sportsman and Modifieds with take over Saturday's events. For reservations, call the Speedway Offices during our winter hours.

More information, special events, new classes, new drivers, and more details will be made available in the next few short weeks leading up to the 57th Season Opener!
