Continental Voted the Top Brand For 2008 And No. 1 in The Summer Tyre Test

HANOVER, Germany – February 25, 2009: In the recent summer tyre test run by the German magazine 'Auto Zeitung', the ContiPremiumContact 2 took first place. At the same time, over 22,000 readers of this motoring magazine voted Continental the best tyre brand.

The ContiPremiumContact 2 beat eight other competitors in the test. What earned the tyre the most points was its balanced performance on both wet and dry roads. The editorial team used an Opel Corsa to test 195/60 R 15 size tyres for compact cars.

In the vote for the top brand for 2008, readers had 23 tyre makes to choose from. The European market leader succeeded in holding on to its No. 1 position from last year, beating off competitors from Europe, the USA, Japan and Korea.
