Vantage Communications Revs Up Green PR for SOMS Technologies

SAN FRANCISCO--Vantage Communications, an award-winning public relations firm, announced today it is the agency of record for SOMS Technologies, a provider of environmentally-friendly engine oil filtration products. By garnering immediate top-tier results in business, trade and green publications, Vantage proves once again it is the go-to agency for green PR.

SOMS Technologies partnered with Vantage in early October 2008 for an immediate introduction to the market, with the ultimate goal to reflect in sales. Vantage hit the ground running and within a couple of weeks, garnered feature coverage in the Wall Street Journal, including a podcast and a strong review of its product. Vantage also obtained coverage in several top trade publications including Greentech Media, The Energy Daily, Automobile Magazine, Automotive Digest, Fleet Maintenance and more.

“When we began working with Vantage, there was no time to waste. We had a very important product announcement and we wanted - and expected - high-impact results to drive our sales,” said Steve Kirchner, COO of SOMS Technologies. “Vantage hit it out of the park for us. We have seen a tremendous increase in awareness and sales from the high-quality coverage we garnered within the first couple of months of our relationship.”

SOMS Technologies’ flagship product, the microGreen Extended Performance Oil Filter, allows drivers to operate their vehicles up to 30,000 miles without an oil change – reducing oil maintenance costs by 65 percent and greatly minimizing the improper disposal of hazardous wastes while helping to protect the environment.

“SOMS came to us with an innovative product which offered significant environmental and economical benefits. What the company needed was a boost in awareness and sales from strong press coverage,” said Catriona Harris, vice president of Vantage Communications. “We leveraged our strong relationships in the green and fleet industries to educate the market and generate positive, feature coverage. As a result, SOMS continues to see an increase in awareness and sales, which was their end-goal from day one.”
