WIMMER PREVIEW - LAS VEGAS - February 24, 2009

BETTING ON BLACK – After last weekend's disappointing DNQ at Auto Club Speedway, the team is determined to get the black Key Motorsports Chevy into the show. This week, driver Scott Wimmer has worked closely with crew chief Tommy Morgan and the entire Key crew to improve the No. 40 based feedback from California. Wimmer qualified 4th in his last race at LVMS.

FOURTH TIME'S A CHARM – Although he's never won at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Scott Wimmer has completed 100% of the laps in his three starts at the track, and has finished no worse than 13th. Although Wimmer has not made a NASCAR Nationwide Series start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway since 2003, he has tested at the track several times in the past six years.

STAYING AT THE TOP OF VEGAS – The Stratosphere Las Vegas Hotel & Casino will be the official hotel of Key Motorsports during the team's stay on the Las Vegas Strip. In addition to an 80,000 square-foot casino and world class hotel rooms and suites with spectacular views, the Stratosphere is home to gourmet dining at the Top of the World panoramic revolving restaurant, five bars, the tallest observation tower in the U.S., and thrilling rides 1,000+ feet over the Strip.

CHASSIS INFORMATION – Key Motorsports will be utilizing chassis #008 as their primary car this weekend at Auto Club Speedway. This is a brand new Key Motorsports-built intermediate car which has never run in a race. This is the same car Wimmer attempted to qualify at Auto Club Speedway in California last weekend.

ON MISSING THE RACE IN CALIFORNIA – "We had a really good car in practice, we just had some issues in qualifying and slowed down. We were 21st and looking really good going into qualifying, but we just had something go wrong. That was disappointing."

ON RACING AT VEGAS AFTER SIX YEARS – "I'm looking forward to getting back there after a disappointing weekend in California. I've actually tested out there the past few years so I've been around the track since it's been repaved and the banking added. I've had a little bit of time on it, and hopefully that can translate. It's a good car, the same car we ran in California. It drove really well before qualifying and hopefully it'll run as good in Vegas as it did there."

ON LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY – "Vegas is a track where you have to have a car that grips good on the long runs. It seems like we do a lot of long green flag runs there, and we have to do a pit stop under green and things like that. We'll be working on hopefully having real good speed at the beginning, but you need a car that will be able to run after 50 laps. It seems the cars that can do that have a lot of success at Vegas. Staying out of trouble is also key. It's changed since they put the banking in and repaved it, the track's really fast and there's a lot of different challenges to it, but hopefully we can go out there and have a car that drove as good as California and just not have the problems in qualifying. Hopefully get in the race and hopefully have a car that'll be good on the long runs."
