TAIPEI, Taiwan - February 23, 2009: Yulon Motor, a leading automobile assembler in Taiwan has introduced its first self-developed model. The new Luxgen MPV is to be produced by a new subsidiary from April.

Luxgen Motor (Luxury x Genius) was set up in 2008 by Yulon Motor, which cooperates with Nissan and General Motors in Taiwan. The company has a huge R&D activity, which so far yielded various Nissan and GM-sourced models which were modified for the local market.

The Luxgen MPV is said to be based on the previous Renault Espace platform. It is powered by a self-developed 2.2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, capable of 200 hp. The new model is 4,8 meter long and 1,876 mm wide and comes equipped with lots of equipment, including rear-view cameras and a Windows CE-powered dashboard.

There are plans to export the new model to China and Russia later this year.
