STAR Publishes Transport Package 2009 Release 1
MCLEAN, Va., Feb. 23, 2009 -- Standards for Technology in Automotive Retail (STAR), a global information technology (IT) standards body for retail automotive and related industries, has published an improved version of the "Transport Package." This new version will help to facilitate interoperability for data exchange with automotive dealerships.
The Transport Package is a set of publications for RSP and OEM software developers and architects to foster interoperable movement of STAR XML BODs. The documents included in the new package are:
-- STAR Transport Guidelines - a high level requirements and recommendations document -- STAR Web Services Implementation - implementation details for using the Web Services specifications -- STAR ebMS Implementation Guidelines - implementation details for using the ebXML Message Services specification The modifications made to the 2009 Release 1 are as follows: -- Transport Guidelines -- Versioning Change -- ebXML Guidelines -- Versioning Change -- Web Services Specifications -- Addition of enhanced PullMessage specifications -- Removal of UDDI chapter About STAR
The Standards for Technology in Automotive Retail (STAR) organization is the information technology (IT) standards organization for retail automotive and related industries. STAR is leading the effort to implement voluntary IT standards throughout the automotive industry.
