MOUNT WAVERLEY, Australia - February 23, 2009: New-generation Mazda3 will take small-car safety and equipment levels to new heights with Dynamic Stability Control standard on all models, and Satellite Navigation and Bluetooth connectivity standard on more than half the Mazda3 range.

The new-generation Mazda3 makes its long-awaited Australian debut at the Melbourne International Motor Show on February 27, 2009.

The next-generation of Australia's favourite new car will have life-saving Dynamic Stability Control fitted as standard equipment to every model in the range. Dynamic Stability Control ensures the driver has greater control in emergency swerve situations or on slippery surfaces by maximising grip levels at each wheel.

The Mazda3 will follow in the footsteps of the Mazda6 mid-size sedan, hatch and wagon, which made DSC standard fitment when the new-generation Mazda6 launched in February 2008.

Mazda is the only one of Australia's top three car brands to offer Dynamic Stability Control on every passenger vehicle in its range.

Satellite Navigation, Bluetooth standard on Maxx Sport, SP25

Mazda will take the technology lead in small cars with standard fitment of in-dash Satellite Navigation and Bluetooth connectivity on Maxx Sport and SP25. These two models are expected to account for over half of all Mazda3 demand.

The 4.1-inch screen is situated in the dashboard above the centre console and is controlled via switches mounted on the steering wheel.

"DSC standard across the range, and satellite navigation on Maxx Sport and SP25; it' wasn't that long ago features like these were the sole domain of high-priced luxury cars," commented Mazda Managing Director Doug Dickson.

"The new-generation Mazda3 will take Mazda's value-for-money commitment to the next level." "We're proud to bring these safety and luxury features to Australian new car buyers, and we're proud to offer them at the affordable end of the market in the successor to Australia's best-selling new car."
