SCCA National Convention Begins in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. February 19, 2009: Sports Car Club of America members have descended upon Las Vegas this week for the 45th SCCA National Convention, which runs from Feb. 19 – Feb. 21.

Attendance at this year’s convention is up 17 percent from 2008, with nearly 450 members currently registered. Attendees have 48 open sessions to choose from over three days, plus three awards luncheons and evening receptions. Highlights include the first Meet the President session with SCCA’s new President and CEO Jeff Dahnert, a presentation from Dr. Rick Brinkman, a specialist in practical communication strategies and the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

The saying “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” will not apply to the SCCA Convention. Recaps will be issued covering each of the day’s activities, and presentations and audio recordings from key sessions will be posted on www.scca.com shortly after the conclusion of the event.
