A lot of teenage testosterone went into overdrive and built Top Dawg
from the ground up in a very short time. It was an answer to a call from
SPEED TV for the reality show, Drag Race High.

In the show, two rival high schools are challenged to build a dragster
that works in only twelve weeks. In the final episode, two professional
drivers face off, and the winner claims victory for the high school.

Ramona automotive high school students went to work. "The kids built the
car as a team," said Robert Grace, Ramona High School Automotive
Instructor. "They worked hard to build a top quality race car from
concept to completion as cameras rolled."

Students received donated parts and found sponsors for Top Dawg. K&N
contributed a K&N hood scoop
<http://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?ID=1232> . K&N is in a class of
its own when it comes to hood scoops. The unique design of the scoop is
that it's also coupled with the use of K&N air filters. K&N is proving
with its patented design that K&N air filters actually increase
horsepower on race cars.

"Automotive people know K&N and its effectiveness," said Grace. "We were
happy to get the K&N hood scoop to make Top Dawg go faster. K&N also
contributed a case of K&N oil filters."

Ramona High School automotive students also interviewed drivers. They
picked NHRA Sportsman Class Racer Chip Rumis
<http://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?ID=1697> to race for them. No
Wally in this run, but major bragging rights to the winner.

"The Drag Race High experience was educational," said Grace. "It also
prompted a new level of interest in automotive engineering. The students
also balanced their daily school schedules as they worked before, during
and after school."

Nearly 200 students attend automotive classes at Ramona High. "We start
with small engine repair and move up from there," said Grace. "We also
promote job shadowing, mentors and college."

The automotive students are more than reality television stars, they won
first and second place in the NHRA Career Fair in Fontana, California.
"They had work stations with simple tests and electrical work," said
Grace. "They also had to do precision measurements and in the final
round dead time a small block 350 cubic inch Chevy engine by ear. I'm
proud of my students."

The first episode of the ten week Drag Race High series will air on
February 18. The results of the race have not been released yet.

James DeMouy works with computers by day and turns into super auto
enthusiast by night. The Houston, Texas resident works after work on his
ultimate hobby, vehicle builds.

DeMouy is with his vehicles anywhere from six to eight hours every
evening in a race shop he built from the ground up. "I love what I do,"
said DeMouy. "I don't sell my builds because I'll never make the money
or the time back that I put into each vehicle."

He traded a 1996 Impala SS for his 1971 Chevy C10 and went to work. "We
took it apart from there," said DeMouy. "We shaved everything and put on
a whole new frame. There is nothing stock on this classic full sized
truck."

The 383 stroker motor was built by G-Force Motorsports. "I installed a
K&N air filter assembly and a K&N oil filter," said DeMouy. "I wouldn't
use anything else. K&N makes the best stuff, performs great, has the
right name and looks good."

Everything from the interior was removed and Mike Henderson of Tin Shack
started with a bare cab shell. "The interior alone took about five
months," said DeMouy. "Everything on the dash is custom built. It is
modeled after designs from the early 1960s. We also converted it to
right-hand drive." Robbie Customs applied graphite leather to the seats
and custom kick panels house the Alpine sound components.

Other modifications include:

Full air ride suspension and body dropped 5 inches
24 inch Incubus Wheels w/275/30/24 Toyo Tires
Kinetik batteries

DeMouy said he is currently tricking out a 2007 Hummer. In the meantime,
his 1971 Chevy C10 will be on display in about twenty shows in 2009. The
next one will be in Texas at the Tex Mex Custom Truck Show.

For nearly 60 years, the Grand National Roadster Show has displayed some
of the biggest stars in the hot rod world. The Los Angeles County
Fairgrounds in Pomona, California is the venue for the event.

The event has hot rods, roadster, custom cars and motorcycles spread out
through all the display buildings available at the Pomona Fairgrounds
along with spaces in between the buildings.

Steve Jones brought his own show truck to Pomona, named the 454 Express.
It is a 1954 Suburban which was awarded Best-in-Show "Truck Division" in
2009 at the Grand National Roadster Show.

"The race track and my love of cars has kept me centered my entire
life," said Jones. "My full sized custom utility wagon started with a V6
350 cubic inch motor and evolved to the show car it is today."

The 454 Express is modified with:

Chip Foose Wheels, 5-spoke billet, custom made, prototype, production
model.
Wilwood, 4 Wheel Disc brakes
Custom built K&N air intake system
454 cubic inch Big Block Chevrolet V8 Engine
TH400 3 speed Automatic Transmission

Ford 9" differential with 3.70: 1 gear ratio
Engine belt: 1 piece serpentine pulley system by Zoops
Modern truck with power rack and pinion steering and independent
suspension
Body: rolled rear tail pan with license plate frame
Front custom made bumper and French headlight with molded hood

The full custom utility wagon was built by Dan Coy of Coy's Customs in
Longmont, Colorado. It also features shaved doors, custom color design,
upholstery and state of the art electronics. "It has racing bucket
seats," said Jones. "I wanted it to look different than a traditional
hot rod interior."

Jones had the car towed to K&N headquarters in Riverside, California.
"K&N makes the best filters on the market," he said. "Anyone can use
K&N, from the mom and pops to the big boys of racing. It looks good, has
excellent filtration and protects engines."

Jones work has been spotlighted on the television show "Overhaulin" and
at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show in Las Vegas,
Nevada. "I have owned and operated a metal refinishing business for
nearly 20 years," he said. "I have been blessed to build business
relationships and friendships with some of the most famous car and
motorcycle builders in the world."

He has plans to showcase the 454 Express at the Good Guys Del Mar Hot
Rod and Custom Car Nationals Show this spring.

Holley's Dominator carburetors are designed for high-horsepower
applications. The assemblies offer a great way feed air lots of air to
your engine while protecting it from harmful debris.

K&N air cleaner assembly designs focus on hitting the "sweet spot",
getting the optimum mix of airflow, filtration, durability and dust
capacity. These K&N 16" outer diameter race-ready air cleaners can flow
the amount of air required for the Holley Dominator. K&N's goal is to
design air filters with the maximum possible airflow achievable while
providing great engine protection.

Holley's Dominator carburetors often encounter extreme conditions when
used in racing applications. For extra protection and increased service

designed to compete on the two superspeedways of Daytona and Talladega
and was updated by crew chief Jamie Jones in the off-season.

"I have a high confidence level this week," said Buescher. "But I'm more
anxious than anything because I haven't had any seat time with the team
and I haven't worked much with the guys or Jamie."

Buescher said he is anxious to see the handling differences between the
trucks and cars. He competed in six NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2008 and
has won national championships in Legend Cars and Late Models.

"One of the biggest differences between cars and trucks should be the
closing rate in the draft," said Buescher. "The trucks will suck up
faster than the cars, and I'm preparing myself for that."

Buescher, 18, will team with veteran Rick Crawford, who will drive the
No.14 International Truck and Engine F-150. The Circle Bar International
Truck and Engine team will use chassis CB-4 this week at Daytona. It is
the team's workhorse on the superspeedways and was raced to a fifth
place finish last year at Daytona.

"Since there was a ban on off-season testing this year, I'm happy to be
back at Daytona for the start of the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck
Series season," said Crawford. "I'm looking forward to the first laps on
the high banks with the Internationals Truck and Engine Ford."

Crawford will make his 298th start this weekend at Daytona. "Having a
teammate at Daytona is always a plus," he said. "We'll work together and
hopefully the two Circle Bar Fords can push each other for the win."

"I'll lean on Rick for advice," said Buescher. "I think he'll be able to
help me out a lot and that's a plus at a place like Daytona."

Circle Bar Racing only uses K&N Filters in its Roush-Yates engines. "Our
engine tuners performed dyno testing off season," said Buescher. "We
know K&N gives us maximum horsepower and reliability in our Fords."

The 2009 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts February 13 at Daytona
International Speedway. It will be televised on SPEED-TV.

The U.S. is struggling to cope with tough economic times and racing has

alternative avenues for racing. BK Motorsports, like many others,
realizes the cost of traveling to and from races can have a crippling
effect on already tight budgets. Rationalizing the situation Bud told

California, to Phoenix, then Las Vegas and finally back to California
would cost around ten-thousand dollars." Kaeding is in search of an
empty driver's seat already at the track. "I don't care what I am racing
as long as I am winning," he said.

Kaeding's last race was the Tulsa, Oklahoma Chili Bowl at the Quicktrip
Center. "Our result was not what we hoped for, but with 300 cars we
definitely didn't have our heads down," he said. The competition at the
Chili Bowl was second to none and it really came down to pure luck.
Kaeding qualified 14th which earned him a spot in the C-Main. A notable
6th place finish there moved Kaeding into the B-Main that evening. Bud
fought his way up to 9th in the B-Main before car trouble prematurely
ended his night.

With the Copper on Dirt at Manzanita approaching, Kaeding is looking for
a chance to make up for the ill-timed car trouble that ended his race
early at the Chili Bowl. He looks to K&N for support and superior
protection for his engines. "I run K&N for the increased performance and
a cleaner running engine," he said. "K&N products clean up on engine
rebuilds easier and there is a noticeable increase in horsepower on the
dyno."

Keep an eye out for Kaeding and his team at the upcoming Sand's
Chevrolet Copper on dirt at the Manzanita Speedway on February 20th and
21st. With a full season of USAC races, including Las Vegas, Nevada and
Perris, California, Kaeding is sure to turn some heads in 2009.

Vaters faced off against some of the most competitive trucks in years at
a non-dirt style show. He drove the Black Stallion and competed with
Dennis Anderson in the Grave Digger, current world freestyle champion
Adam Anderson in Taz, Dave Rappach with Rap Attack, Black Stallion
teammate Trey Meyers in Iron Warrior, Damon Bradshaw with the Air Force
Afterburner, Lindsey Weenk in Blue Thunder and George Balhan in An
Escalade.

The first round of racing paired Grave Digger against Black Stallion.
Vaters lost the victory to Anderson by a photo finish. In the Freestyle
portion of Monster Jam, Vaters came out of the pit area with a
vengeance, and completely rocked the house pushing Black Stallion past
the breaking point. Vaters launched the truck high off the car stack and
come down so hard one of his rear axles broke. "The broken axle then
lodged itself," said Vaters. "That caused one of the rear wheels to lock
up."

Vaters stopped his run short and repaired the problem. "It was for
safety," he said. "Also, to prevent further breakage during the
weekend's four shows."

The next day a pit party brought out more than 6,000 fans to meet the
drivers. Vaters won the afternoon racing competition. Adam Anderson was
out for the win that night after losing to the Black Stallion earlier in
the day. That night Vaters and the Black Stallion rocked the house in
the freestyle event, and edged out Taz in the finals.

Vaters uses K&N air and oil filters on his Monster Trucks. "Over my many
years in this business I've used a lot of products, but K&N is the one
that can handle the dirty and dusty environment during Monster Jam
competitions," said Vaters. "We are known nationwide for our wild and
crazy driving and the ability to push our engines to the limit. We're
hard on our motors and K&N gives us the protection we need for
competition."

The team is traveling to Cleveland, Ohio this weekend to compete in
Monster Jam at Quicken Loans Arena.

Johnny Benson is last year's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Champion. Benson
will pilot the Red Horse Racing K&N Truck. His teammate T.J. Bell will
pilot the No. 11 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra.

"Johnny had the number one spot last year in the series and it seemed
fitting that the person who is number one, would drive the No. 1 truck,"
said Thomas DeLoach, Red Horse Racing Owner and Managing Partner. "I
want the headlines to read Number One Won One."

Benson is paired with crew chief Trip Bruce at Red Horse Racing.
Together Benson and Bruce have scored nine wins, 26 top-five finishes
and 37 top ten finishes in 50 starts. "We are excited to have Johnny,"
said DeLoach. "He is one of the most accomplished drivers in NASCAR.
He's won races at every level and has won championships all the way back
to his ASA days. "

Bell had his career best NASCAR Camping World Truck Series last season
and earned the Most Improved Driver Award in 2008. The 2009 inaugural
NASCAR Camping World Truck race will mark Bell's first time racing at
Daytona in one of NASCAR's top three elite series.

"We use K&N air and oil filters on both trucks," said DeLoach. "K&N
makes a product that provides good air flow to the engine to develop the
maximum horsepower we need to win."

Benson is looking to win another title trophy after edging out Rod
Hornaday, Jr., by seven points last year. The NASCAR Camping World Truck
Series returns to SPEED TV. It will begin with the season-opening
NextEra Energy Resources 250 on February 13. SPEED will broadcast 23 of
the 25 races.

"Our research and development program is the best in the business," says
Schmidt. "We don't build cookie cutter crate engines. We build custom
competition racing engines that win." Over the years, that has certainly
proven to be true. Schmidt Racing customers have set over 40 records in
Comp Eliminator and won many Division Championships, as well as 22
national events in NHRA Pro Stock. In 2002, Steve even provided the
horsepower for The Spirit of DUNLOP, a car commissioned by Dunlop Tires.
Fitted with Schmidt's powerful 1300 HP 585 cubic inch big block Chevy
engine, the car broke the World Land Speed Record using standard
production tires as well as the South African Land Speed Record.

The future looks bright for this engine builder to the champions and
Steve is currently working on some new NHRA Pro Stock engine projects.
"I am also developing some new 5.2 and 5.3 bore center +860 cubic inch
engines, which will be outfitted with K&N filters," says Schmidt. "We
use K&N filters exclusively on all of our race engines. We offer a one
year warranty on our products, so we can't take a chance on using
anything but the very best parts."

Parker 425 Desert Race Ends for Brad Lovell, King of Hammers Off Road
Race is Next <http://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?ID=1802>
Tuesday - February 10, 2009 3:19 PM

There is a level of endurance necessary to take a truck on a 425 mile
desert race which batters the body and punishes the vehicle. "It's hard
to understand the feel of it without experiencing it first hand," said
Brad Lovell. "The bruises and aches I have are a testament to the
difficulty of such a race."

The Parker 425 takes place along the Colorado River which is surrounded
by thousands of square miles of desert. Racers drive three laps around a
140 mile course. "Our team piloted the No. 7231 Ford Ranger into the
desolate landscape," said Lovell. "There were four of us, Bill Kunz,
Greg Jones and Bradley Bolton rounded up our team."

Kunz and Lovell took the green flag and began their 235 mile leg. "I was
a little nervous about the unknown terrain, but got comfortable
quickly," said Lovell. "I started calling out turns and hazards from our
GPS map. This job proved to be very important as we passed multiple
trucks and buggies upside down or crashed within the first ten miles of
the race."

Simple tasks like focusing on gauges was a constant effort for the
racers due to the bright sun, dust and constant jarring on the course.
Before pit number one the vehicle Lovell was navigating slowed to a
stop. The entire wheel and tire were missing and they had to call the
chase crew. After about an hour of work they were back in the game.

"We had more hammering and jarring," said Lovell. "My helmet slammed
into my head when we crashed into an overgrown washboard that was up to
five feet deep. The whole process was extremely violent. This is why
people say desert racing is like a 24-hour plane crash."

After the sand wash, the team made it to the high land. "Bill opened up
all 496 horsepower and we topped out at nearly 100 mph," said Lovell.
"It is, however, very difficult to determine when there is a faster car
behind you and the hazards that can bring to you."

Vehicles can hide in the thick dust and the loudest sirens are muted.
Lovell said the aggressive way to make a pass is to simply crash into
the truck in front of you. "We learned this first hand when an unlimited
buggy slammed into us," he said. "We were doing about 65 mph at the time
and the buggy was doing about 90 mph. The rear of our truck lifted and
slid to the side and we just let him by."

The next hurdle was a desert downpour. Silt and sand became miles of mud
as the low areas filled with water. "Chances were, if we stopped for any
reason we wouldn't get going again," said Lovell. "We were soaked and
cold and our communications went out because of the moisture. We made it
to Pit Three and the next crew took over."

The Ford Ranger was equipped with a K&N. "It was filthy out there but
with our K&N air filter we had one less thing to worry about," said
Lovell. "We got the extra filtration we needed in the desert mud, sand
and silt with K&N."

Eventually a rear suspension link ended the race for the four. Only 76
of the 275 entries finished the race and many teams abandoned their rigs
in the desert and had to retrieve them later.

Brad and his brother Roger Lovell are looking forward to their next
event, the King of the Hammers
<http://www.knfilters.com/news/news.aspx?ID=1263> Race. "It's an epic
race, and one of the most daring in rock sports," said Lovell. "We hope
to bring home the win for K&N in our FABTECH Ford Ranger."

With little zigzag off the line, his incremental times were 60ft at
0.995 seconds, 330ft at 2.785 seconds, 660ft at 4.271/165.58 mph and
1,000ft at 5.551. His left lane runs put him at 6.629 seconds at 208
mph. Johnson's desire to win remains as intense as it has ever been. He
has his sites set on firmly earning the 2009 Pro Stock title.

Johnson has been instrumental in the evolution of the Pro Stock Race car
from a vehicle based on an actual production vehicle to the competitive
thoroughbred used today.

K&N has had a technical relationship with Johnson for many years and has
developed some cutting edge products for air intake systems, including
new hood scoop technology. "K&N decided to take our relationship to the
next level primarily because of Warren's tireless competitive spirit and
unparalleled mechanical expertise," said Steve Williams, K&N Vice
President of Research and Development. "Some of the fastest Pro-Stock
cars in history are using the hood scoops that have been jointly
developed by K&N with Warren Johnson Racing."

"It's great to work with K&N to develop a more efficient hood scoop and
supercharge these engines," said Warren Johnson. "Our development takes
us from the dyno room to the race track where we take our power and
apply it to the car."

Johnson will be back on the track in his K&N Filters Pontiac GXP at
Pomona, weather permitting, later in the week. "It's very exciting,"
said Johnson. "It's good to be back in black."

"The look of the K&N GXP needed to be bold and represent the
progressiveness of the company," said Williams. "I believe it does. K&N
wants to help Warren get to his 100th NHRA national event win."

Johnson is one of his sport's most visible icons. Named as one of the
NHRA's Top 50 drivers during its 50th anniversary celebration, this Hall
of Famer continues to be a force at every race entered.

Aaron Cline teamed up with local stunters and performed a couple of
shows around the Kansas City area.
27 year old Aaron Cline says his passion for stunt riding began in 2003
after visiting the local stunt spot and watching riders do wheelies,
stoppies and burnouts. "I spent countless hours of practicing. I even
called into work some days because I couldn't wait to get back on my
bike and practice a new trick," says Cline. "In 2004, I teamed up with
the local stunters and performed a couple of shows around the Kansas
City area. I've always liked to show off, so once I got in front of a
crowd I was hooked! The adrenaline rush of stunting, plus the looks on
the people's faces as I rode by in a highchair wheelie was awesome! It
just fueled my fire to ride more and work on getting more shows."

Later that year, Cline partnered up with his current teammate Jeff
Schneider to create ILLCONDUCT, also known as Harley Stunts. Their first
sponsor was a local Harley Dealership that outfitted them with new Buell
XB12Rs. "That was one of the biggest accomplishments in stunt riding at
the time. Having a dealership backing us helped us book shows all over
the country," says Cline. "That year was our first taste of life on the
road and we were loving it!" The pair began performing at big events
such as Sturgis while travelling all over the country.

Currently doing around 30 events a year, ILLCONDUCT has even performed
in Canada, India and Jamaica. "By far the best thing about stunt riding
is the great people I have met in the motorcycle industry, the fans and
being able to share the experience with great friends," says Cline.

Aaron and his teammate perform on Harley Sportster XL 1200's and Buell
XB 9's. "Our bikes take a ton of abuse and keeping our machines in top
condition is always a priority," says Cline. "We use K&N oil and air
filters on all our bikes. Even with custom air box modifications on the
Buells, we were able to find a K&N filter to fit the bikes and still
improve performance. We now use K&N filters on all our vehicles for the
increased fuel economy and performance."

that we decided to support his racing efforts."

Fletcher has raced full time for 12 years and his resume reads like a
dream come true for any racer. A few highlights include World Finals
Winner, a National Champion in Comp Eliminator. He also has three NHRA
World Championships and 56 NHRA National Event Wins.

K&N is also the associate sponsor for the Rick Bruan-owned Chevy Cobalt
that Fletcher will drive in 2009. He took it all the way to the 2008
NHRA Lucas Oil Comp Championship. "I'm a one-man-band when it comes to
my 1969 Chevys. I take care of my cars, I drive my motor home to and
from the tracks and I do the books. In the Cobalt, I just get in and
drive for someone else. K&N products have been with me every step of my
racing career."

K&N is a recognized leader in performance air and oil filters along with
developing new hood scoop technology. "K&N is a company that develops
products for many different forms of filters protecting engines while
providing maximum air flow," said Williams. "We are looking forward to
working with Dan and his K&N Stocker and Super-Stocker along with the
Competition Eliminator car that he drives. I pick Dan to repeat as a

in the contest and cost them some time. They were able to take the
Mitsubishi to the finish with a crew of technicians.

In the only true winter rally in the Rally America Series, conditions
are slick and drivers face a challenge of finding traction at high
speeds on the ice and snow.

"In winter rallies there is a constant balance of deciding how hard to
push and how to take as few risks as possible," said Comrie-Picard. "It
was a classic snow rally. Fortunately we stayed in and didn't make any
big mistakes."

Comrie-Picard and the NOS Energy Mitsubishi shared the podium with
Travis Pastrana, the winner in his factory Subaru WRX STi, along with
second-place winner Tanner Foust in his Hyundai Tiburon. "We work in
tough conditions with a motor built right to the edge of the envelope,"
said Comrie-Picard. "K&N keeps contaminants out and has been our choice
for a decade."

ACP Rally's next competition will be at the Rallye Perce-Neige Maniwaki
in Quebec, Canada. ACP Rally won the event in 2007 and came in second
place there in 2008.

In timed practice Seely came in at 22nd and Sheren 24th. Lapaglia
suffered a mechanical issue and was only able to make one lap during the
second session. That put him in 40th place.

In heat one Seely got a great start coming around the first turn. He
battled the entire six lap race against 2008 defending East Coast
Supercross Champion Trey Canard. Seely was edged out of third place at
the finish by Canard.

"Cole showed veteran form with the pressure that Trey applied during the
heat," said Team Manager Gregg Lynk. "Our team riders have been working
really hard and it shows."

Sheren and Lapaglia were in heat two. Lapaglia lost power because of a
bad ignition system and he was only able to make it half-a-lap. Sheren
managed to work his way up to eighth which gave him a trip to his first
main event of the season. He went on to finish 18th.

In the main, Seely had another great start in third. He rode the pace of
the front runners and stayed in the top five during the first eight
laps. On lap nine, he struggled and went on to finish 11th.

Fun Center Suzuki Team will next race at Anaheim Stadium in California.
It will be televised on SPEED-TV.
