STOKE-ON-TRENT, United Kingdom – February 11, 2009: The new g-Grip is the latest addition to the BFGoodrich car tyre range and has been designed for fitment to hatchbacks, saloons and MPVs.

The g-Grip offers excellent safety performance on wet and dry roads due to its specially developed directional tread pattern, along with superb levels of vehicle control and precise handling characteristics.

On normal wet roads, the ‘vortex’ tread pattern clears water quickly to let the tread rubber grip the road surface. In deeper standing water, the wide grooves running around the circumference of the tyre maximise water dispersal to reduce the risk of aquaplaning.

In dry conditions the g-Grip allows drivers to get the best from their car. This is thanks to substantial shoulder tread blocks which ensure rapid steering response in corners and a continuous central tread rib which enhances straight-line stability. This stability is maintained during braking due to ‘chamfered edge’ sipes. These increase the rigidity of each tread block, and therefore maintain the shape of the tread area to offer reliable and consistent braking performance.

The BFGoodrich g-Grip is available in 2009 to fit cars with 14” to 17” wheels and in speed symbols T, H, V and W. Further sizes will be available in 2010.
