NHRA Professional Finals Concluded  at Pomona

Pomona, Calif.  (February 10, 2009) – After being delayed for two days as 
rain wreaked  havoc through southern California, the Kragen O’Reilly NHRA 
Winternationals for  the professional classes finally crowned winners Tuesday 
afternoon at the Auto  Club Raceway at Pomona, while the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series 
sportsmen classes  will have to wait and finish their rounds on  Wednesday. 
Three Ringers’ supporting teams advanced to the first final round of  2009, 
but only one stood in the Full Throttle Winner’s Circle and that was KB  Racing 
driver Jason Line.  In an all  Ringers’ Pro Stock final, Line picked up his 
16th class win as he  defeated Mike Edwards, 6.65-second/211.63 mph to 
6.57-seconds/210.01  mph. 
Antron Brown and his Mike Ashley Racing-owned Matco Tools dragster went  into 
Sunday in the No. 1 qualifying spot in the Top Fuel class, but had to  settle 
for a runner-up finish on Tuesday in a close drag race with Doug Kalitta,  
3.82/308.57 mph to 3.84/307.16 mph. 
This was the first time in over 30  years an NHRA race was finished on a 
Tuesday. 
The NHRA Full Throttle Racing Series  will move onto Firebird International 
Raceway in Chandler, Ariz., February 20-22  for the 25th annual NHRA Arizona  
Nationals.
