Honda: Enviro Friendly Cars.... and Ads!

TULLAMARINE, Australia – February 10, 2009: Honda Australia has embarked on another environmentally friendly initiative in conjunction with its hybrid billboards to promote the Wheels 2008 Car of the Year – the Honda Accord Euro.

The new environmentally-friendly BIOflex skins will be used on all Honda billboard sites.

BIOflex is the first landfill degradable PVC and contains no toxic materials. It’s been engineered to breakdown under landfill conditions within three to five years, unlike standard PVC which chokes our landfill sites, retaining its form and toxic content for decades.

This is a natural step for Honda, who already uses solar electric power to illuminate outdoor billboard sites and have partnered with Adshel to recycle street furniture posters.

Honda Australia’s Senior Director, Mr. Lindsay Smalley, said Honda is always thinking about ways to promote their award winning products through environmentally sustainable means. “Winning Wheels Car of the Year is an excellent achievement for Honda and is proof that we’re meeting our primary goal of creating desirable, value for money cars. These new environmentally-friendly skins also help us towards our global vision, to leave blue skies for our children,” Mr. Smalley said.
