LDV DEALER AWARDED GLASGOW CITY COUNCIL CONTRACT

 

A Scottish LDV dealer is celebrating after being chosen as the preferred
supplier for Glasgow City Council in a four year deal. 

 

Glasgow Imperial Commercials successfully won the tender under stiff
competition which compared both quality and price against other light
commercial vehicle manufacturers.  The deal will see Imperial supply
five 3.5 tonne MAXUS vans as well as provide a four year service and
maintenance package for the council's fleet of 2,500 vehicles.  The
contract was previously managed by internal resources.

 

Two of the long wheel based extra high roof MAXUS vans will be used as
general vehicles, transporting equipment and materials across the city.
The remaining three vehicles will provide a mobile maintenance and
repair service for the Council's mechanical equipment. Each vehicle has
been converted to incorporate a compressor, welding facilities, work
bench and racking. 

 

Glasgow City Council's transport manager, John Kilian believes the
latest additions will enhance the Council's service. "Imperial
Commercials demonstrated a reliable service that comfortably met our
requirements.  The service and maintenance contract will ensure our
vehicles remain on the road for longer."

 

Christine Thomson, dealer principal at Imperial Commercials added: "We
are delighted to have won this contract and believe it is testament to
the strong products and service that we offer."

 

Imperial Commercials is based on Bogmoor Road.  The dealership supplies
both new and used LDV vehicles and offers servicing and a seven days a
week parts service.  Outside of the dealership, Imperial also offers
