Bucking The Trend - Mitsubishi's Dealer Of The Year
![]() |
CIRENCESTER, United Kingdom – February 2, 2009: A Mitsubishi dealer since 1976, just two years after Mitsubishi’s only authorised importer and distributor started selling in the UK, Devonshire Motors has been a consistent advocate of the brand.
As a Mitsubishi operator, they have resisted recent approaches from other manufacturers to become a dual or multi-franchise operation. Their focus on Mitsubishi has certainly paid off as they recently collected Mitsubishi’s UK Dealer of the Year Award for 2008.
Proven Sales Performance
Their performance figures prove they
deserve the accolade. In 2008 they sold over 400 vehicles and came in with
sales results 20% above their objectives and a retail market share of 5.82%
– nearly three and a half times higher than the national average.
Essential Aftersales
They are no slouches when it comes to
aftersales provision either, with fully utilised workshops and top
performing mystery shop scores as well. They recognise that their parts and
service business is key to their ongoing success, and their customer care
policy has proven again and again that courtesy, efficiency, and value for
money make the difference every time.
Partnership Pays Dividends
Indeed, Barry Brettell, Devonshire
Motors’ Sales Director says that, “We are thrilled to be
awarded Mitsubishi’s Dealer of the Year Award. It’s a great
brand that does all it can to help its dealers – especially at times
like this. Although times are tough, we try to see the silver lining to the
inevitable cloud hanging over the industry right now and we always
appreciate Mitsubishi’s genuine desire to partner with its dealer
network.”
Jim Tyrrell, Mitsubishi UK’s Managing Director, said that, “It just goes to show that a good dealer can prove their ability even in the most difficult of trading environments. The Devonshire Motors team works hard and has just the right drive, focus and customer care approach to ensure their ongoing success. We’ll certainly do all we can to help them, and the rest of the Mitsubishi network, to survive and thrive in 2009.”
