America's Incredible Pizza Company and CJM Racing Introduce the "Incredible Heroes Campaign"

Mooresville, NC February 5, 2009: America’s Incredible Pizza Company, sponsor of the No. 11 NASCAR Nationwide Series car driven by Scott Lagasse Jr., is all about incredible things in 2009. This season the Pizza Company would like to recognize incredible people that have done incredible acts.

The “Incredible Heroes Program” is the brainchild of Rick Barsness, Founder and CEO of America’s Incredible Pizza Company. Barsness’ idea was simply this: Find hometown heroes in the cities where the NASCAR Nationwide Series races, and show them how incredible they really are. Almost immediately the search began to find heroes across the country.

“There are so many incredible people out there doing wonderful things everyday that you never hear about. We wanted to help get those stories out and recognize these people,” remarked Barsness.

The first and inaugural incredible hero of the 2009 season to be honored is Daytona Beach resident Adam Clatterbuck. Adam, a paramedic with EVAC ambulance, donated one of his kidneys to his brother-in-law Robert Underwood on June 17, 2008.

For three and a half years Robert underwent dialysis treatments for polycystic renal disease, which is a disease that consists of a series of cysts inside and outside the kidney that cause it to shut down. The prolonged treatments left Robert so fatigued that even walking down the street was no longer an option.

On Christmas 2007, Robert and his families’ life would change dramatically as Adam announced that he was a perfect match for the kidney transplant. Robert would be given a new lease on life thanks to his brother-in-law.

“I had to help my brother-in-law. He was in desperate need of a kidney,” Adam stated. “There isn’t anything we wouldn’t do for family.”

In recognition of Adam’s selfless act, he and his wife, Karin, have been invited out to Daytona International Speedway as guests of CJM Racing. The two will experience a VIP day at the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Saturday, February 14th.
