Oakdale, Calif. February 5, 209: 16 year-old Justin Wall of Oakdale, Calif. will move into the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series for the 2009 racing season, it was announced on Thursday.

Wall, who ran Baby Grands in 2008, will race at the one-third mile Madera Speedway in Madera, Calif. Justin Wall Racing will campaign a #57 Western Late Model with title sponsorship to be announced.

“It’s been a dream of mine growing up to one day make this level,” Wall said. “I’m looking forward to the challenges and extremely fortunate for this opportunity.”

The talented Oakdale High School junior will also compete in various races at the other two NASCAR-sanctioned tracks in Northern California: Stockton 99 Speedway and All American Speedway, in Roseville, Calif.

Throughout the season, Wall will focus on gaining experience while also chasing the Madera Speedway track championship. Points will also be earned towards the NASCAR state and national championships.

“I really enjoy the atmosphere that Kenny Shepherd has created for the competitors and fans at Madera,” Wall said. “I’m really excited to get to run there and I enjoy the track.”

Wall earned his stripes the last two seasons with the Western Scale Racing Association Baby Grands, competing at Madera and All American. Wall’s best 2008 finish, a third, was at Madera last summer.

For 2009, he hopes to parlay his success in the Baby Grand over to the 400 horsepower Western Late Models.

“Baby Grands are an awesome stepping stone car,” Wall said. “I’ve been told they give a similar feel and power-to-weight ratio as the Late Models. They’re twitchy cars that give you a sense of feel.”

Justin Wall Racing is looking for marketing partners for the 2009 racing season.

The teenager is expected to draw national attention as one of the youngest drivers in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.
