Hyundai to Unveil i20 at Melbourne International Motor Show
SYDNEY, Australia - February 5, 2009: Hyundai Motor Company’s new i20 small hatch will make its Australian debut at the 2009 Melbourne International Motor Show.
Set to go on sale in the 3rd quarter, the i20 will offer customers premium features and technology now appearing on many larger more expensive models.
The i20 is slightly smaller than the multi-award winning i30 range. Like the i30, the i20 is part of Hyundai’s next generation of vehicles identified by the ‘i’ prefix. The long wheelbase gives the i20 an athletic stance and allowed the design team to develop a spacious interior package. The i20 carries through the ‘i’ series front grille, incorporating a bold chrome-topped grille flanked by teardrop headlamps.
Designed by Hyundai’s European design studio in Russelsheim, Germany, the i20 will suit people looking for a sophisticated fuel efficient compact hatch to get around the busy cities of Australia.
