TOPEKA, Kan. Jan. 30, 2009: February programming for the 45th SCCA National Championship Runoffs on SPEED begins with the action-packed F Production and Formula Atlantic races on Monday, Feb. 2.

At noon (EST), FP polesitter Eric Prill leads field into Turn One, while outside front-row starter Rick Harris loses two spots to the No. 21 Hoosier Tires/Red Line Oil/CWH MG Midget of Brian Linn and the No. 18 SBS Batteries/Goodyear Tire Triumph Spitfire of Steve Sargis. When Linn spins in Turn 10, Harris picks up a spot in his No. 8 Prather Racing/WBR Graphics Mazda Miata, while up front, Sargis takes over the lead from Prill. But, right when things start to heat up between Prill and Harris, the No. 7 Fight-MS/Hoosier/Prather Racing/ESCP Lotus Super 7 suffers a suspension failure, promoting Harris to second. Does Harris, a Runoffs rookie, have what it takes to run down Sargis for the win? Tune into SPEED on Monday, Feb. 2, to find out.

Next, at 1 p.m., it’s the super fast FA class, with 2006 FA National Champion Mirl Swan leading the field to the green flag. The former champ’s start is less than graceful as he hits the rev limiter shifting to second in his No. 88 Swan Racing/Hoosier/Saferacer Swift 014 Toyota, allowing second-place starter David Grant by and into the lead. Swan files in line behind Grant’s No. 12 Hoosier Tire Swift 014 Toyota, but quickly turns up the pressure. Who will come out on top when the pair attempt to take Turns Three through Five side-by-side? Catch it all on SPEED.
