Toyota Appoints New Head Of Human Resources

EPSOM, United Kingdom – January 29, 2009: Francesco Mereu has been appointed a director of Toyota GB with responsibility for human resources, corporate social responsibility and environmental strategy. He took up the post on 19 January, joining the company from the human resources division of Toyota Motor Europe, replacing Sarah Fisher.

Mereu, 41 holds a degree in business administration and Masters in human resources. Before joining TME in 2004 he worked for Fiat for nine years, during which time he gained extensive international experience, notably as HR director for the company in The Netherlands and Germany.

Born in Germany to Italian parents, Mereu is a fluent Italian, English and German speaker. He is married and in his spare time enjoys cooking, music, rock gigs and yoga.
