Behr Receives GM Award at North American International Auto Show
DETROIT--Behr GmbH & Co. KG was among 10 auto suppliers recognized this month by General Motors for outstanding performance in 2008.
Behr was honored for significant contributions to General Motors’ logistics costs and its overall performance as a supplier based on factors such as quality, cost and delivery. Bo Andersson, GM group vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain, and Jim Queen, GM group vice president, Global Engineering, presented the Behr award to Behr America President and CEO Frank Mueller.
“Suppliers honored under this program made positive contributions to the success of General Motors during some very difficult times,” said Andersson. “Despite enduring unprecedented economic conditions, these suppliers responded to the challenges of competing in a global industry and staying aligned with General Motors.”
Behr also was singled out for offering 47 ideas in response to GM’s call for ways to reduce total landed costs.
"This important recognition by one of the world's largest vehicle manufacturers is quite an honor for our company," Mueller noted. "It demonstrates our commitment to provide value beyond high-quality products and innovative technologies to our customers."
Behr’s North American headquarters is in Troy, Michigan. Behr America has nearly 3,000 employees at facilities in Troy, Mich.; Dayton, Ohio; Charleston, S.C.; Fort Worth, Texas, and Ramos Arizpe, Mexico.
