World Speed Motorsports, the promoter of the series, has been using Red Line Oil exclusively in their race cars since the early 90's. Red Line Oil was a feature sponsor on World Speed's Champ Car Atlantic racecar for years and the team podiumed multiple times in the Red Line Oil Star Mazda oval series back in 2000. "We have known the Red Line Oil guys for years, and we won't use anything else in our racing cars. Their products are reliable and perform under the most serious conditions," noted World Speed President Telo Stewart.
Since 1979, Red Line Synthetic Oil Corporation has grown to manufacture more than 100 quality products, including motor oils, gear oils, assembly lubes, fuel additives, and its popular WaterWetter cooling additive for the automotive, motorcycle, marine, and industrial markets. Based in Benicia, California, Red Line has a reputation with racers and enthusiasts alike for creating products that perform and protect better than any on the market, regardless of price. "Red Line has raced with World Speed and supported the Star Mazda teams since the cars were created," said Cameron Evans, Director of Sales and Marketing. "We were thrilled that the opportunity arose to support the series and teams. We have the products that have helped win championships in the national series, so this was an easy decision."
The Molecule Formula Mazda Challenge is a regional Star Mazda series that keeps costs in check by limiting travel to a general region and racing spec open wheel cars. There are three classes that are welcomed to compete in the events; The Pro Formula Mazda, the Standard Formula Mazda, and the Formula E powered by Mazda. The MOLECULE Formula Mazda Challenge forges into its fifth consecutive season as an officially sanctioned NASA race group.
The year end cash awards have grown to over $18,000 for the season with the addition of support from MAZDASPEED. Returning series partners include Star Race Cars, and title sponsor Molecule Labs.
