Roadtestreports.co.uk Announces The Nation's Favourite Supermini
STOCKPORT, United Kingdom – January 22, 2009: Consumer review champions, RoadTestReports.co.uk has unveiled the UK motorists’ favourite supermini, the Vauxhall Corsa.
The Vauxhall Corsa came top of a poll on the popular website, with 35 per cent of the vote. A total of 487 people responded to the survey, with the practical Honda Jazz coming in second place with 19 per cent of the vote, while the Ford Fiesta, took third place with a respectable 13 per cent.*
Vauxhall’s triumph cannot come as too much of a surprise, as their success with the website’s visitors is mirrored by their success in the showrooms, the Corsa was the top selling supermini in the UK, with 99,574 new registrations through 2008 according to the statistics from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)**.
Meanwhile the Ford Fiesta was the top selling model through the month of December and the third best selling model of the year with 94,989 registered in 2008.
The website which features consumer car reviews plus reviews from established motoring journalists, took some of the best selling supermini models of the year to find out which model had genuinely earned its impressive sales figures. RoadTestReports.co.uk’s Faye Sunderland explains why:
“We say time and time again, it is one thing to take a car on a test drive, it is quite another to live with a vehicle day in and day out as your main source of transportation. It bodes well for Vauxhall, Honda and Ford to see that people don’t just buy these cars, but once they have them on the drive, that they are satisfied with their purchase.
“The reviews of these vehicles by both our journalists and from our website visitors are glowing and speak highly of their good residuals, practicality and comfort.
“Now in its third generations, the Corsa has rightly been voted as the nation’s favourite supermini.”
