HERNDON, Va., January 21, 2009: Volkswagen Group of America announced today the completion of a 260,000 square foot parts distribution facility at the Perimeter West Industrial Park in Jacksonville, Fla. The new facility is 30 percent larger than the company's previous parts distribution center in Jacksonville. The facility has 40 warehouse and administrative team members and will service 118 Volkswagen and Audi dealers in the southeastern U.S., including those in Ala., Fla., Ga., N.C., S.C. and Tenn.

"This new, larger facility will enable us to provide better efficiency in our parts department and help us meet the needs of our expansive southeastern dealer base," said Troy Smith, general manager for parts and operations strategy at Volkswagen Group of America. "This distribution center will continue to serve us as we expand our presence in the U.S."

Built-to-suit by Trammell Crow Company and ING Clarion, the fully air-conditioned, secure facility features 30 foot clear height bays, a three-level, 45,000 square foot parts mezzanine and 10,000 square feet of office space. The space, which has a 15 year lease, also enables Volkswagen Group to expand its distribution facilities by 40,000 square feet.

"Jacksonville has emerged as a major logistics center based upon its transportation infrastructure that includes a major port, international airport, three railways and several major airports," said Robert Abberger, senior managing director of Trammell Crow Company's Florida Business Unit. "Trammell Crow is pleased to be in a position where we can deliver class A industrial space in a timely manner and react to the needs of local, regional and national businesses in the area."

The 54-acre park is immediately adjacent to I-295 at Pritchard Road, a few miles northwest of Jacksonville. The location provides for easy access to the east and west coasts of Florida and north towards Georgia via I-95, I-10 and I-75.
