LUTON, United Kingdom – January 21, 2009: More than 320,000 owners of Vauxhall, SAAB and Chevrolet cars needing a first MOT Test in 2009 can take the uncertainty out of this sometimes fraught experience and protect their investment with a special insurance scheme.

For an annual peace of mind premium of just £75, the scheme covers you against the cost of repair and replacement of an extensive range of parts that fall within the scope of the annual safety and roadworthiness test.

This extends to more than 20 key areas, including lighting, steering and suspension, brakes, fuel system, mirrors and seatbelts, should your car or car-derived van fail its MOT. The annual premium covers repairs up to a total value of £750.

MOT Test Insurance is available for most Vauxhall cars and all car-derived vans, plus Saab and Chevrolet cars up to eight years old having covered less than 80,000 miles, provided that there is at least six months until your vehicle’s first or next MOT is due and that your car has an up-to-date service history in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

And if you decide to sell your vehicle privately before its next test, the policy can be transferred to the new owner.

The policy is available at participating Vauxhall MasterFit Retailers across the 400 strong network throughout the UK, plus participating Saab and Chevrolet service departments.
